Julien Petit

International Investor Relations Manager

Julien has 30 years of experience in financial markets.

He began his career in 1994 at Société Générale Frankfurt in the Options Division, focusing on Interest Rate Structured Products Sales. In 1998, he transferred to Société Générale Hong Kong, where he headed South-East Asian Interest Rates and Long-Term FX Derivatives Sales. Julien subsequently moved to Société Générale London, focusing on Fixed Income solutions. After a brief tenure at Bank of New York, he joined Bear Stearns London, where he worked in Jérôme’s team. He was promoted to Senior Managing Director and led the German and Austrian Fixed Income Solutions team and built the German real money business from the ground up.

In 2008, Julien joined Credit Suisse London as Managing Director, spearheading the Fixed Income solutions business for German real money accounts. In 2011, he moved to BNP Paribas London as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Structured Products & Solutions for Germany and Austria.

In 2015, Julien transitioned from investment banking to entrepreneurship, establishing his own company to distribute alternative funds to core European investors. During this period, he collaborated with Smart Lenders Asset Managers. In 2018, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of two Luxembourg SICAVs (AIF & UCITS) in the liquid alternatives space and served as co-CEO of an Austrian-regulated investment firm. Following further ventures in the quantitative alternatives space, Julien reunited with Smart Lenders in 2025 to lead their international distribution efforts.

Julien graduated with an MSc from ESCP Business School in Paris in 1993. He also holds the « Fit & Proper » certification from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA).
